Connect to ChatGPT

Once your MCP server is running (see Connect to AI Assistants), follow these steps to connect it to ChatGPT.

Enable Developer Mode

ChatGPT requires Developer Mode for MCP connections:

1. Open ChatGPT at chatgpt.com or the desktop app.
2. Click your profile icon → Settings.
3. Under General, toggle Developer Mode on.

Add the MCP Server

1. Go to Settings → Developer → MCP Servers.

2. Click Add Server.

3. Enter the connection details from the app (Settings → MCP Server):

   Field	Where to find it
   Name	Enter any name (e.g. FeynmanLM)
   URL	Copy from app: MCP URL
   Client ID	Copy from app: Client ID
   Client Secret	Copy from app: Client Secret

4. Click Connect. ChatGPT completes the OAuth flow automatically.

Try It Out

Ask ChatGPT things like:

• "What flashcards do I have about transformer attention mechanisms?"
• "Create 5 flashcards from my latest source on oxidative phosphorylation."
• "Which cards are due for review today?"
• "Draft an explainer article on my machine-learning cards."

Disconnecting

Go to Settings → Developer → MCP Servers, find FeynmanLM, and click Remove.
